Alongside the Greys River runs a scenic 80-mile-long gravel road known as the Greys River Loop Road. A side road off the loop road leads to a two-mile trail that ascends 11,363-foot Wyoming Peak-the tallest in the range.
Thayne is the heart of Star Valley, located in the midst of National Forest, National Parks and nearby resort areas with altitudes ranging from 5,600 feet to over 10,000 feet. This valley is fed by seven mountain lakes, three major rivers and numerous pure water springs, creeks and streams flowing into a twenty mile long lake.
